I truly enjoyed my stay at Co404 Oaxaca. I felt welcomed and safe, this was my first time traveling solo. I loved the location, I walked everywhere and the best food places and iconic thigs to see & do in Oaxaca are within 15 minutes from the location. While I stayed i had the opportunity to join others for games and dancing classes. Celine, one of the volunteers was very helpful. She welcomed me when I arrived at night and helped me get a taxi to the airport. The only cons or areas of improvement I can mention- It was almost impossible to sleep/ rest: I got a private room and I really like the setup but the mattress was one of the most uncomfortable I have slept on. One of the mattress side was clearly the most used, it had a huge indentation that even if i try to sleep on the other side i kept rolling/ falling into it. Also, the heat made it hard to rest. Opening the window & ceiling fan weren't enough; I think if there were an additional floor fan would have made it much better. If i get a better mattress I would definitely come back & bring friends.

Co4O4 Oaxaca has a great community and other perks. People are nice, but I feel like the managers/owners of this coliving rely way too much on the community and don't focus enough on making the amenities of this place enjoyable and comfortable. I had been recommended this place but I was disappointed to be honest. Pros : The location is great, very central and therefore very walkable. The cleaning ladies clean the common spaces daily so it's pretty clean. There is always a volunteer on duty you can talk to in case of problem. There is a weekly dinner which is convivial and makes everyone gather for a night. People who stay there are nice, the community aspect is definitely a perk of the coliving. You have everything you need in the kitchen. The volunteers suggest to do activities together around twice a week which was pretty nice (+ daily yoga during the week at that time). Cons : For the price I paid, I expected to have more comfort… There is no AC in the building, which is quite unbearable during the hottest months in Oaxaca : I don't recommend coming at that time of the year (around April to June). The coworking space is open to the outside (there are no doors) which makes it particularly hot in the afternoon and very difficult to focus. In the afternoon, most people escaped in their rooms so they would suffer a bit less from the heat. The common spaces are all outdoors so it was really hot and mostly empty during the day... And therefore more difficult to bond with people. Depending on which side of the street you are staying, your room can be quite noisy too. The regular chairs at the co-working are not comfortable, there were like only 2 functional ergonomic chairs and only two fans for the whole coworking space when I left which was definitely not enough, especially when it's that hot... The rest of them were broken and no one seemed to care to do something about this. The WIFI connection is in overall good enough but not always stable (could be pretty bad in the rooms sometimes). The common spaces also were not comfortable : benches and hard seats. There is also a sofa but it's quite hard too. It doesn't make the space cozy and doesn't make you feel like hanging out for long in these spaces. I have been in other colivings before and that's definitely the least comfortable I've been to. I know there were many people during my stay who agreed on that and who were also annoyed by the points I just mentioned, they seem to be a bit more forgiving just because people are nice. But when you are staying at a coliving place, it's not just for having fun, you are literally living and working there and need a certain amount of comfort to do it in the best conditions. Improving the amenities would go a long way.

Great experience all in all. The space is very well designed and covers all needs for remote working: fast internet, lots of space and desks, call booths. The shared kitchen has everything you need and it’s fully equipped. The volunteers were super nice and welcoming, always caring for the wellbeing of the guests. They put an effort into organizing activities like family dinners, hikes, trips, yoga on the roof, which is super nice. I stayed in the dorm and it was super noisy from 5am till late at night. Even with earplugs. So maybe get a private room if it’s available.

Not only this place is amazing and centrally located in Oaxaca, what makes this place extraordinary for me are the people. Co404 created an amazing community with a lot of activities such as food tours, family dinners, game nights and hikes. I had amazing 15 days here, thank you!

Co.404 in Oaxaca is the perfect place for nomad workers (digital or not). The workspace is big and highly functional, and there are plenty of booths for videocalls. In the shared spaces you'll always find someone cooking or just hanging out, and always ready for a chat. Oaxaca is a beautiful city, with so much to see and do ... and taste! But just know that once you've been there, all you want is to come back. :)
